Create EPUB books from TXT, check encoding and chapters, or edit book details and covers. Learn local reading and text extraction steps and limitations.

Which operation fits?
Your taskWhere to start
Turn a manuscript into a bookCheck TXT encoding, edit chapter starts and export EPUB
Correct a library titleEdit metadata on a copy without rebuilding the manuscript
Extract searchable textExport text from an unencrypted EPUB in reading order

Work in order and retain the original

Open a local EPUB to inspect its chapters in spine order; the quick reader uses table-of-contents labels when available, but does not save bookmarks. TXT extraction follows the same spine order and retains intentional blank paragraphs, while losing layout and image text. When editing metadata, inspect the prefilled title, first author and language before downloading a new copy. Changing the author replaces multiple creator entries; leaving it unchanged preserves them. DRM-protected books are not supported.

Representative workflow and expected result
Confirm title and language → review chapters → build EPUB → open in a separate reader → follow every navigation link.

Separate processing success from acceptance

Check the opening chapter, images and navigation in the target reader. Editing a cover image does not create or rewrite a visible cover page. Keep the original source and avoid interpreting a successful download as a complete readability check.

Before you finish

Expand a tool below for its steps, options and limits. Choose the tools needed for your task; you do not need to use every one.

  • Check the opening chapter, images and navigation in the target reader. Keep the original source and avoid interpreting a successful download as a complete readability check.
  • Reopen the download and compare it with the example and the meaning of the input.
  • When an input exceeds the stated boundaries, retain it and split the task or use a suitable processor; renaming an extension does not make it compatible.

TXT to EPUBAdd a cover and chapters to your plain text.

Create an EPUB 3 book from readable plain text. Detect Chinese or English chapter headings, or edit the chapter line list. The book contains editable text and a navigation table, not page images.

Steps

  1. Paste content into “TXT” or choose a local file; if using a file, inspect and confirm its decoded preview.
  2. Review the detected chapters, adjust the chapter list if needed, and check Book title, Author and Book language (BCP 47).
  3. Create the EPUB, inspect its chapter summary and download the book.

Capabilities and limits

  • One plain-text file or text input up to 10 MiB. Optional local PNG/JPEG cover up to 5 MiB. At most 1,000 chapters; title and author up to 300 characters. For file input, inspect and confirm the decoded preview before exporting.
Open TXT to EPUB →
Read EPUBOpen a local EPUB and check its chapters in your browser.

Open a local, unencrypted EPUB in spine order. Chapter names come from its table of contents when available. The isolated preview blocks book scripts and external resources and displays embedded JPEG or PNG images.

Steps

  1. Choose the local .epub file. The working copy stays in this browser.
  2. Check your input, then select “Open book”.
  3. Choose a chapter or use Previous and Next, then read the isolated preview. Copy current chapter text if needed. The book remains local and is not uploaded.

Capabilities and limits

  • Document packages are limited to 20 MiB, 2,000 entries and 100 MiB expanded. This quick reader does not save bookmarks or sync reading position.
  • Each package entry must expand by no more than 100 times its compressed size; highly compressed or malformed packages are rejected.
  • An EPUB can contain at most 1,000 spine chapters. The isolated chapter preview supports embedded PNG and JPEG images up to 5 MiB each; missing, external or unsupported images are represented by available alternative text.

EPUB to TXTExtract the text from an ebook in reading order.

Extract EPUB text in spine order as UTF-8 TXT, retaining chapter breaks and intentional blank paragraphs. This does not bypass DRM, render fixed-layout pages or use OCR for text embedded in pictures.

Steps

  1. Choose the local .epub file. The working copy stays in this browser.
  2. Check your input, then select “Extract book text”.
  3. Review the TXT result, then use the available copy or download controls.

Capabilities and limits

  • Document packages are limited to 20 MiB, 2,000 entries and 100 MiB expanded; macros and external relationships are not executed.
  • Each package entry must expand by no more than 100 times its compressed size; highly compressed or malformed packages are rejected.

Open EPUB to TXT →
Edit EPUB metadataUpdate an ebook’s title, author, or cover.

Inspect an EPUB’s existing title, first author and language, then edit those fields or add a local cover. Unchanged creator entries and chapter files are preserved. Encrypted books are rejected and the original stays unchanged.

Steps

  1. Choose the local .epub file. The working copy stays in this browser.
  2. Review the book’s existing information and the prefilled Book title, Author and Book language fields. Optionally choose a JPEG or PNG cover, then select “Save book information”.
  3. Download the new EPUB and reopen it in your intended reader to check the book information, cover and chapters.

Capabilities and limits

  • Document packages are limited to 20 MiB, 2,000 entries and 100 MiB expanded; macros and external relationships are not executed.
  • Cover editing updates the cover image resource or metadata. It does not rewrite a cover page or add a visible first page.
