Compress images
Make images lighter for sharing and uploading.
- 1Add input
- 2Adjust settings
- 3Get your result
Tool input and files are processed in this browser without being uploaded.
Before you start
Re-encode static JPEG, PNG or WebP images as JPEG or WebP at your chosen quality. Compare actual byte counts and appearance: the setting does not guarantee a target file size, and an already optimized image can become larger.
How to use this tool
- Choose up to 20 saved JPEG, PNG or WebP files. The originals stay on your device.
- Choose JPEG or WebP and set quality. For JPEG output from a transparent source, choose the background color; WebP can retain transparency.
- Compare each result with the source, including detail, transparency and actual bytes. Download one image or the ZIP for several files.
Supported inputs and limits
Static JPEG, PNG or WebP only: up to 20 files, 20 MiB and 16 million pixels per image, 80 MiB per batch. Animated images and SVG are not supported.

}When something does not work
Use a supported static image within the stated pixel budget. Lower quality or use WebP if the target accepts it, then check the actual byte count. If the output still exceeds an upload limit, resize the image first.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. Files and tool input are processed in your browser. Moving around the site can keep a temporary workspace in the same tab. Refreshing or closing the tab clears it, so download results you want to keep.
Will the file always get smaller?
No. Quality is an encoder setting, not a target size in bytes. Already optimized JPEG or WebP files can become larger. Compare the actual input and output byte counts and inspect fine detail before using the download.
Which output should I choose for transparency?
This tool outputs JPEG or WebP. Choose WebP for transparency. JPEG has no alpha channel and uses the selected background color for transparent areas.
