    Preparing the tool…

    Before you start

Convert one or many JPEGs into PNG files in your browser. This is useful when a workflow requires PNG or when you want to avoid another lossy JPG save. It does not restore lost JPEG detail, add transparency or guarantee a smaller file.

    How to use this tool

    1. Choose one or more local .jpg or .jpeg files.
    2. Select “Convert to PNG”. Each file keeps its dimensions and displayed orientation.
    3. Review each file’s JPG and PNG size, then download individual PNGs or the batch ZIP.

    Supported inputs and limits

Static JPEG only; up to 20 files, 20 MiB and 16 million pixels per image, 80 MiB per batch. Animated images and other formats are not accepted.

    Worked example

    Example input

    pixels.jpg
    Example options
    {}

    Example output

    pixels.png · 400 × 200 px
The result is a PNG file. Check its size and colors before using it.

    When something does not work

Use actual JPEG files within the stated limits. If a download fails to open or looks different, keep the JPG and check its orientation and colors in another image viewer. Conversion does not alter the original.

    Frequently asked questions

    Are my files uploaded?

No. Files and tool input are processed in your browser. Moving around the site can keep a temporary workspace in the same tab. Refreshing or closing the tab clears it, so download results you want to keep.

Will converting to PNG improve quality or add transparency?

No. The PNG stores the browser-decoded JPEG image without a new lossy compression step. Detail already lost in the JPG stays lost, and the existing background remains opaque. PNG can be much larger; check the per-file sizes.
