Browser-local processing: files, storage and downloads
See what stays in browser memory, what preferences are stored, and what ordinary website requests still send. Understand downloads and temporary file handoff.
Where are my files?
Input and file bytes are processed in this browser, without a conversion upload. Favorites, theme and recent tools save only identifiers and preferences. Closing the page discards unsaved results. Feedback is separate: only content you explicitly submit is sent. Do not include file contents or secrets in feedback.
File handoff lifetime
Continue-processing keeps output in this tab’s memory for at most 60 seconds and removes it after one read. Reloading or closing the page does not retain it. Download anything you need to keep.
Switching between tools, documentation or languages keeps inputs, files, options and results that fit in this tab’s memory. Up to five tool records share a 96 MiB cache budget. Ordinary records expire after 30 minutes; important unexported edits remain until cleared or the tab session ends. Capacity limits can retain inputs only or prevent saving a record; important edits that cannot be retained require confirmation before leaving.
Separate working data from saved preferences
A result link refers to data available to the current page. It is not a permanent share URL. Copying that link to another device does not transfer the document; download the result if you need to keep it.
The next-tool file handoff is consumed once within 60 seconds; temporary workspaces let you return after navigating within the site. Neither uses localStorage, sessionStorage or a database. Refreshing, closing the tab, leaving for another site or a browser crash can lose undownloaded work. Download important results to your device.
| Data | Where it is used | How to manage it |
|---|---|---|
| File bytes and pasted text | Current tool session | Clear input or close the page |
| Theme, saved tools and recent tools | Browser local storage | Change preferences or clear site data |
| Downloaded output | Your device download folder | Manage it with your file manager |
| Optional feedback | Configured feedback service | Submit only a redacted description |
Before you finish
- Do not use a shared or untrusted device for confidential material.
- Browser extensions and operating-system software are outside this app’s control.
- Reloading may fetch site code again; local processing is not an offline-availability promise.
- Review the privacy page before submitting feedback.
Leaving and clearing temporary workspaces
Ordinary inputs, examples, calculations and edited results whose downloads have been requested do not trigger a generic leave confirmation. Following a link during processing asks whether to stop; changing language waits for completion. Unexported chapter or page-order edits still receive browser protection when refreshing or closing.
The Clear temporary workspaces action below the page removes retained states from tools you have left, without clearing the currently open tool. Important unexported edits require confirmation before clearing. Clear in the current tool only resets that tool. Temporary workspaces are not backups and are not shared across tabs.
