    Options

    Complete the required options first. You can keep the defaults for the rest.

    Switching modes resets this value to 1,000 lines or 1,048,576 UTF-8 bytes. Byte mode may split a line, but never a Unicode code point.

    Preparing the tool…

    Before you start

    Split text into line-count or UTF-8-byte-bounded parts and download a real ZIP. Byte splitting never cuts a Unicode code point; joining the parts restores the decoded source.

    How to use this tool

    1. Paste content into “TXT” or choose a local file.
    2. Review Input encoding, Split by, Lines / maximum bytes per part before selecting “Split text”.
    3. Download the ZIP, inspect the numbered TXT parts, and join their contents in order if you need to reconstruct the decoded source.

    Supported inputs and limits

    A local TXT file is limited to 10 MiB; pasted text can be up to 30 MiB. ZIP archives contain at most 1,000 parts. Confirm that legacy-encoding previews are readable.

    Worked example

    Example input

    a
    b
    c

    Example options
    {
      "mode": "lines",
      "size": 2
    }

    Example output

    {
      "parts": 2,
      "inputBytes": 6
    }

    When something does not work

    If splitting fails, reduce the input or increase the part size within the stated limits. For a local file, check its decoded preview and confirm the encoding before retrying. Keep the source until the numbered ZIP parts have been checked.

    Frequently asked questions

    Are my files uploaded?

    No. Files and tool input are processed in your browser. Moving around the site can keep a temporary workspace in the same tab. Refreshing or closing the tab clears it, so download results you want to keep.

    What should I check in this result?

    Split text into line-count or UTF-8-byte-bounded parts and download a real ZIP. Byte splitting never cuts a Unicode code point; joining the parts restores the decoded source.
