Before you start
Clean pasted text while keeping useful line and paragraph breaks. Remove trailing spaces, optionally reduce spaces and tabs inside lines, and choose how many blank lines to retain.
How to use this tool
- Paste text into “Text”, or load the example to try it.
- Choose trailing-space removal, space/tab collapsing, and the maximum consecutive blank lines (0 removes all).
- Review paragraph spacing, then copy or download the complete result.
Supported inputs and limits
Paste up to 1 MiB. This tool does not join wrapped lines into paragraphs; review the spacing before using the result.
Trailing cleanup removes tabs and Unicode space separators. Space/tab collapsing leaves other characters intact; malformed Unicode is rejected. Mixed CR, LF and CRLF breaks use the first detected style.

When something does not work
Keep the source text. If paragraph gaps disappear, raise the blank-line maximum; if indentation changes unexpectedly, turn off space/tab collapsing. Shorten input above 1 MiB and retry.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. Files and tool input are processed in your browser. Moving around the site can keep a temporary workspace in the same tab. Refreshing or closing the tab clears it, so download results you want to keep.
What should I check in this result?
Lines containing only whitespace count as blank and retained blank lines become truly empty, even when trailing-space removal is off. Ordinary line breaks stay; the space/tab option only collapses runs within a line.
