Trim video
Trim supported WebM video and review its actual export range.

Tool input and files are processed in this browser without being uploaded.
Before you start
Preview a WebM video and choose the part to keep. The actual start moves back to the previous video keyframe. Keep sound re-encodes a supported single Opus track locally for partial clips; Video only removes every audio track.
How to use this tool
- Choose a local .webm file and preview it in your browser.
- Play or scrub to mark the start and end, or type the times in seconds. Leave end blank to keep the rest; the saved clip may begin before the chosen start.
- Choose Keep sound or Video only. A supported Opus partial cut re-encodes audio in your browser; if the file or browser cannot do that safely, choose Video only to export the same picture range without sound. Preview and listen to the result before downloading.
Supported inputs and limits
Local video is limited to 50 MiB; finite-cluster WebM with VP8/VP9/AV1 video and optional Opus/Vorbis audio can export up to 60 seconds. Partial cuts can keep one supported Opus track when this browser supports local audio re-encoding. Vorbis, multiple audio tracks and unsupported Opus layouts require Video only, which removes all audio tracks.
Worked example
Example input
av.webm
Example options
Choose 2.5 s as the start and 4.5 s as the end, then select Video only — remove audio.
Example output
Download av-trimmed-silent.webm. The previous keyframe is at 2 s, so this sample saves 2–4.5 s of video with no audio track.
When something does not work
Only finite-cluster WebM with VP8, VP9 or AV1 video and optional Opus/Vorbis audio is supported. MP4 and other containers are rejected. A partial cut keeps sound only when one supported Opus track can be re-encoded in this browser; otherwise select Video only for the same picture range. If preview fails, try a WebM file your browser can play.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. Files and tool input are processed in your browser. Moving around the site can keep a temporary workspace in the same tab. Refreshing or closing the tab clears it, so download results you want to keep.
What should I check in this result?
Compare the reported start, end and length with your selection, then play and listen to the saved clip. Video only removes every audio track. Keep sound can preserve a supported Opus track on a partial cut by re-encoding it locally; other audio layouts may need Video only.
