    Preparing the tool…

    Before you start

Save a new video with its audio tracks physically removed. Supported H.264 MP4 and VP8, VP9 or AV1 WebM video packets are copied without re-encoding; this does more than mute playback.

    How to use this tool

    1. Choose an MP4 or WebM file; preview its picture and sound if your browser supports the codec.
    2. Select “Remove audio tracks” to save the video stream in a new file.
    3. Compare playback when available, then download and check the new video in your intended app.

    Supported inputs and limits

One local video, up to 50 MiB and 60 seconds. MP4 requires one H.264/AVC video track; WebM requires finite clusters and one VP8, VP9 or AV1 video track. Unsupported codecs, encrypted video and other containers are rejected.

    Worked example

    Example input

    clip.mp4 (H.264 video + AAC audio)
    Example options
    {}

    Example output

    clip-silent.mp4 · original: 1 audio track · saved: 0 audio tracks · H.264 video copied without re-encoding

    When something does not work

If the video is rejected, check that MP4 contains H.264/AVC or WebM contains VP8, VP9 or AV1 and is under the size and duration limits. Changing a filename extension does not convert the video. Browser playback also depends on local codec support.

    Frequently asked questions

    Are my files uploaded?

No. Files and tool input are processed in your browser. Moving around the site can keep a temporary workspace in the same tab. Refreshing or closing the tab clears it, so download results you want to keep.

Will my original video quality change?

The supported video packets are copied without re-encoding. The new file contains only the video track, so audio and other tracks are removed. Play the result in your intended app to check compatibility.
