Tool input and files are processed in this browser without being uploaded.
Before you start
Choose MP3s and declare how filenames map to track, title and artist. The default persisted Title keeps the zero-padded filename track followed by title and .mp3, useful for players that sort by Title. Download edited copies and the complete before/after report.
How to use this tool
- Choose MP3 files and set explicit filename/Title templates.
- Choose ID3v1 removal or strict Latin1 synchronization.
- Review persisted before/after tags and original MPEG SHA; download ZIP.
Supported inputs and limits
200 files,30 MiB each,80 MiB total;ID3 tag≤1 MiB/file, complete outputs≤100 MiB. A failure or cancellation rejects the whole batch. Ordinary unflagged ID3v2.3/v2.4 only; v3 writes UTF16LE+BOM, v4 UTF8.
Change only TIT2/TPE1/TRCK. Other raw frames including multiple APIC/TXXX and original MPEG bytes are retained. Duplicate edited frames, inner-NUL multi-values, v3 multi-artist slash values, unknown flags, compression/encryption/unsynchronization/extended headers/footer reject. Each token ends at the first following literal delimiter; choose a less ambiguous template when names contain it.
Worked example
Example input
01 - Lecture α - Speaker.mp3 with default templates and ID3v1 strip.
Example options
{"v1Policy":"strip"}Example output
Persisted TIT2=01 - Lecture α.mp3, artist=Speaker,track=1. APIC/TXXX and MPEG bytes unchanged.
When something does not work
Correct mismatched filenames/templates or unsupported source tag flags. Use strip for Unicode/long titles, reduce budgets and rerun.
Frequently asked questions
Can ID3v1 store Unicode or long titles?
Sync accepts only Latin1 title/artist≤30 characters and track1–255. Incompatible Unicode or length fails instead of truncating; choose strip to remove the legacy tag.
