    Options

Complete the required options first. You can keep the defaults for the rest.

    Preparing the tool…

    Before you start

Add letterhead, a transparent design, or page-matched marks to a base PDF. Add the base PDF first and the overlay PDF second; use the queue arrows to swap them. One overlay page repeats across every base page, while a matching page set maps page by page.

    How to use this tool

    1. Add the base PDF, then the overlay PDF; confirm their roles in the file queue.
    2. Choose opacity from 0 (invisible) to 1 (opaque). The overlay fits and centers within the visible crop area of each base page.
    3. Compare the base and output page by page; download and reopen the PDF before sharing.

    Supported inputs and limits

Choose exactly two unencrypted PDFs, each up to 30 MiB and 300 pages. The overlay must have one page or the same page count as the base. The opacity range is 0–1; an opaque overlay can hide base content.

Only visible PDF page artwork is overlaid. Annotations, editable form widgets and digital signatures in the overlay are not copied. Signed base PDFs and rotated pages are rejected. Files stay in the browser; keep the originals.

    Worked example

    Example input

    Base PDF: 2 pages, each 600 × 400 pt; overlay PDF: 1 transparent 200 × 100 pt page with a blue mark.
    Example options
    {"opacity": 0.5}

    Example output

2 output pages; each page keeps its base artwork and shows the centered blue mark at 50% opacity.

    When something does not work

Check the file order, use two unencrypted PDFs, keep the overlay at one page or the same page count, and use opacity 0–1. Rotated pages and signed base PDFs are unsupported.

    Frequently asked questions

Do both PDFs need the same page count?

No. A one-page overlay repeats on every base page. Otherwise the overlay must have exactly as many pages as the base, mapped in order. A blank overlay page adds no artwork and keeps its page position.

    What does opacity change?

0 leaves the overlay invisible; 1 draws its page artwork fully opaque. An opaque white background may cover content in the base PDF.

Will comments, forms or signatures be transferred?

No. Only the overlay PDF’s visible page artwork is embedded. Annotations, form widgets and signatures are not transferred; signed base PDFs and rotated pages are rejected.
