- 3Get your result
Tool input and files are processed in this browser without being uploaded.
Before you start
Make scanned pages easier to read by detecting white margins page by page. Or enter exact crop amounts for the visible edges. Compare the original and result before downloading.
How to use this tool
- Choose a local PDF. Automatic margin detection is selected by default.
- Keep a safety margin around the detected content, or switch to exact edge values.
- Crop the PDF, compare original and result page by page, then download.
Supported inputs and limits
Automatic detection uses a rendered page image and may mistake faint marks or uneven scan backgrounds for blank space. Review every page before using the result.
Cropping only hides content outside the visible area; it does not redact or remove it. Files stay in the browser, up to 30 MiB and 300 pages.
Worked example
Example input
three-pages.pdf
Example options
{
"mode": "manual",
"left": 10,
"right": 20,
"top": 30,
"bottom": 40
}Example output
A cropped PDF ready for page-by-page comparison and download.
When something does not work
If a page is cut too tightly or unchanged, adjust the safety margin or use exact edges, crop again and compare every page.
Frequently asked questions
Does this permanently remove hidden content?
No. The PDF CropBox changes what viewers show; hidden content may still be recovered. Do not use this for redaction.
Will every scanned page crop correctly?
Not always. Faint text, speckles, colored paper and page decorations can affect detection. Check each page in the comparison, then use exact edges if needed.
