    Options

Complete the required options first. You can keep the defaults for the rest.

Reject the batch if any selected image needs EXIF rotation to stay upright. No output will be produced in that case.

    Preparing the tool…

    Before you start

Remove EXIF, XMP, comments and other non-color metadata from local images. The original encoded image data is kept when orientation is already normal. Images that rely on EXIF rotation are re-encoded to stay upright, unless you choose to reject them instead.

    How to use this tool

    1. Choose one or more local JPEG, PNG or WebP images. Files stay in this browser.
    2. For a strict no-recompression workflow, select Never re-encode. Rotated JPEGs will be rejected; otherwise they are re-encoded to stay upright.
    3. Select “Remove metadata”. The tool preserves encoded image data unless the selected handling of EXIF rotation requires re-encoding.
    4. Review the per-file method and remaining color information, then download the cleaned copies.

    Supported inputs and limits

Static JPEG, PNG or WebP only; up to 20 MiB and 16 million pixels per image, 80 MiB per batch. No animation or SVG.

ICC and other color information is retained when image data is preserved, so colors remain interpretable. These profiles may still contain descriptive data; this is not a full anonymization guarantee.

For an EXIF-rotated JPEG, this tool re-encodes to keep the picture upright after removing EXIF. Choose Never re-encode to reject such files and keep a strict no-recompression workflow.

    When something does not work

Use a supported, non-animated image within the stated pixel budget. If Never re-encode rejects a batch, remove rotated JPEGs or turn off that option and inspect their exported orientation, colors and quality.

    Frequently asked questions

    Are my files uploaded?

No. Files and tool input are processed in your browser. Moving around the site can keep a temporary workspace in the same tab. Refreshing or closing the tab clears it, so download results you want to keep.

Will removing metadata change image quality?

Normally the encoded image data is copied without re-encoding. If a JPEG uses EXIF rotation, the tool re-encodes it to keep its visible orientation; compare the output before sharing. Color profiles are retained in the copy path.

    Does this guarantee anonymity?

No. The tool removes supported EXIF, XMP, comments and other non-color containers. It keeps color information and cannot detect details visible in the picture itself. Inspect the output and the image content before sharing.
