Random list picker
Pick one or more names or items from a line-by-line list without reusing a selected line in the same draw.
- 1Add input
- 2Review and run
- 3Get your result
Tool input and files are processed in this browser without being uploaded.
Before you start
Paste one candidate per line, choose how many to draw, and decide whether identical labels count once or as separate entries. The selected lines are returned in random order.
How to use this tool
- Paste or type one candidate per line. Check how many eligible entries remain after the duplicate choice.
- Set the visible pick count from 1 to the number of eligible entries; choose whether to remove identical labels first.
- Draw once, then copy or download the selected lines. Run again for an independent draw.
Supported inputs and limits
Up to 50,000 input lines per draw. Blank lines are ignored and surrounding spaces are trimmed; duplicate matching is exact and case-sensitive.
Each input position can be chosen only once in one draw. If repeated labels are kept, the same label may appear more than once; each new run starts over and can pick past winners again.
Uses browser cryptographic random values. It does not provide a public seed, audit trail or certification for an externally governed raffle. Input stays in the browser.
Worked example
Example input
Mori Amy Zoe
Example options
{"count":2,"unique":true}Example output
Two distinct names from the list, one per line. The exact names and order vary each run.
When something does not work
Enter at least one nonblank line and a whole pick count no greater than the eligible entries. Remove duplicate labels if each name should count only once.
Frequently asked questions
Can the same name appear twice?
Within one draw, an input line cannot be selected twice. If you keep repeated labels, separate lines with the same name can both be picked. Turn on duplicate removal to count each exact label once.
Does another draw exclude past picks?
No. Each run begins with the full current list. Save or remove previous winners yourself before another run if your process requires that.
Is this suitable as proof of a fair prize draw?
The tool uses browser cryptographic random values for a one-time selection, but it has no public seed or audit trail and does not certify an external raffle.
Is my list uploaded?
No. The draw runs in your browser; save the selected list before refreshing or closing the tab.
