Before you start
Tile the visible area of a selected PDF page onto A4, A3, Letter or custom paper. The content stays vector-based; page rotation and nonzero crop origins are normalized. Use the assembly diagram and coordinate report to arrange the printed sheets.
How to use this tool
- Select the PDF and one-based source page.
- Choose paper and orientation, set scale percent, printable margin and overlap in millimetres.
- Inspect numbered sheet positions, download the PDF and assembly JSON, and print at 100% actual size. Check your printer's unprintable margins first.
Supported inputs and limits
One unencrypted unsigned PDF up to 30 MiB and 300 source pages; select one page. Up to 300 output sheets, paper sides 10–2,000 mm and scaled poster side at most 20,000 mm. XFA, detected signatures and any annotation/widget content are rejected.
CropBox is intersected with MediaBox; rotation must be a multiple of 90°, and UserUnit must be absent or 1. Equal paper and margin lengths use 0.0001 pt rounding tolerance when counting sheets. Output order is row by row, top to bottom and left to right. Overlap must be smaller than both printable dimensions. Custom width/height are swapped for landscape.
Worked example
Example input
One 210×891 mm PDF page.
Example options
{"page":1,"paper":"a4","orientation":"portrait","scale":100,"margin":0,"overlap":0}Example output
At 100%, portrait A4, zero margins and overlap: 1 column × 3 rows, exactly 3 PDF pages plus an assembly JSON.
When something does not work
Use an unencrypted unsigned PDF with no annotation/widget content. Check the selected page, paper dimensions and margins; overlap must be smaller than printable width and height. Increase paper size or reduce scale if output exceeds 300 sheets.
Frequently asked questions
Does a 210×891 mm poster need three A4 sheets?
At 100% with zero margin and overlap, portrait A4 gives one column and three rows. Hardware may not support zero-edge printing; entering printable margins changes the sheet count.
How should I print the result?
Choose 100% or Actual size and the paper dimensions used here. Disable Fit to page. The tool creates pages but cannot control your printer, paper feed or physical trimming.
What does the diagram show?
Each numbered rectangle is the poster area printed on that sheet, including overlap. The final sheet may contain a partial area and blank space. JSON records millimetre positions and assembly order.
