Open Graph preview
Check Open Graph tags in pasted HTML and preview a share card.
- 1Add input
- 2Adjust settings
- 3Get your result
Tool input and files are processed in this browser without being uploaded.
Before you start
Paste the HTML source or <head> tags from a local page to check og:title, og:type, og:image and og:url, then preview the card. You can also draft a card by entering fields manually. No remote page or image is fetched, and platforms may render cards differently.
How to use this tool
- Keep Paste HTML selected and paste the page source or its <head> tags. You may choose a local image to see the artwork; the og:image URL itself is not fetched.
- Select Preview share card. Review which Open Graph tags are present, missing, empty or invalid, and check any HTML title or description fallback.
- For a draft card, change Input method to Enter fields and supply a title and page URL. Review or download the JSON result.
Supported inputs and limits
Paste up to 1 MiB of HTML. The og:image URL is checked as text and never loaded. An optional local preview image must be a static JPEG, PNG or WebP up to 20 MiB and 16 million pixels.
Worked example
Example input
<head><title>Local card</title><meta property="og:title" content="Local card"><meta property="og:type" content="website"><meta property="og:url" content="https://example.org/a"><meta property="og:image" content="https://example.org/card.png"></head>
Example options
Input method: Paste HTML tags. No URL fetch.
Example output
og:title, og:type, og:url and og:image found; og:description missing (optional). Preview title: Local card; hostname: example.org.
When something does not work
Use the documented input format and keep values within the displayed limits. Review the result before using it in another document or application. Editing the input marks the previous result as stale; a failed run clears it.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. Files and tool input are processed in your browser. Moving around the site can keep a temporary workspace in the same tab. Refreshing or closing the tab clears it, so download results you want to keep.
What should I check in this result?
The HTML check identifies the four core Open Graph tags, checks that og:url and og:image are absolute HTTP(S) URLs, and shows the first value when a tag repeats. og:description is optional. It cannot confirm that a live site serves these tags or predict every platform’s card.
