Check the IN list

Paste one spreadsheet column or enter one value per line. Blank rows are skipped; duplicates and spaces inside values are kept.

Value type

Text values keep surrounding spaces and escape apostrophes by doubling them. Backslashes are rejected because SQL servers interpret them differently.

Paste one column or choose a TXT file to begin.

Preparing the tool…

Before you start

Paste a single column of IDs or names and generate an IN (...) fragment. Choose Text or Number before generating, then check skipped blank rows and repeated values.

How to use this tool

  1. Paste one spreadsheet column or open a UTF-8 TXT file with one value per line.
  2. Choose Text for IDs/names or Number for numeric columns, and check the preflight counts.
  3. Generate the fragment, review its quoting and target column type, then copy or download the complete SQL.

Supported inputs and limits

Processes input locally; no query is executed or sent to a server.

One value per line, up to 50,000 lines. Blank rows are skipped; duplicates are retained.

Text uses standard SQL apostrophe doubling. Backslashes and control characters are rejected because SQL dialects differ. Use query parameters for untrusted or dynamic data.

Large IN lists and NULL matching depend on your database; this tool does not validate a complete query.

Worked example

Example input

Mori
O'Brien
Example options
{"type":"text"}

Example output

IN ('Mori', 'O''Brien')

When something does not work

No query is executed. If a pasted range contains tabs, select only one column; for backslashes or dynamic data, use query parameters.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paste a column copied from Excel?

Yes. Paste one column; each row becomes one SQL value. Empty rows are skipped and duplicates remain visible in the counts.

When should I choose Number?

Only for numeric database columns. Keep IDs with leading zeros in Text mode. For untrusted or dynamic data, use parameterized queries.

Is my input sent to a server?

No. Tool input is processed in your browser, not sent to a server. Temporary workspaces stay in the same tab and are cleared by a refresh or tab closure. Save the results you need.
