Your input

Inputs are kept temporarily in this tab when switching tools. Refreshing or closing clears them; large results may need to be regenerated.

⌘ / Ctrl + Enter to run
Conversion direction

Digits alone are decimal. Use 0x for hex digits without A–F. FILETIME is 100 ns ticks from 1601 UTC.

Enter one value to preview the conversion.
Preparing the tool…

Before you start

Paste a decimal or hexadecimal FILETIME value to read the UTC time, or convert an ISO date back to ticks. The full seven fractional digits are kept.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose FILETIME → UTC or ISO date → FILETIME.
  2. Paste a decimal value, a hexadecimal value containing A–F, or a 0x-prefixed hexadecimal value. For the reverse direction, enter an ISO date or offset-aware date-time.
  3. Check the live preview, convert, then copy the exact UTC time, decimal ticks or hex value.

Supported inputs and limits

FILETIME counts 100-nanosecond intervals from 1601-01-01 UTC. This page displays UTC dates through year 9999.

A date-time needs Z or a numeric UTC offset; a date alone means midnight UTC. Leap seconds are not supported.

Zero is the FILETIME epoch, but some Active Directory fields use zero as a special value. Interpret field semantics in the source system. Input stays in this browser.

Frequently asked questions

What does one FILETIME tick mean?

One tick is 100 ns since 1601-01-01 UTC. The result preserves all seven fractional second digits.

How do I enter a registry hexadecimal value?

Use 0x before hex digits. Bare hex is accepted when it contains A–F; digits alone are decimal. Byte arrays and endianness conversion are outside this form.

Does zero mean never in Active Directory?

It depends on the attribute. The mathematical FILETIME value zero is 1601-01-01 UTC; check the source field before interpreting it as an AD sentinel.

Is my input sent to a server?

No. Conversion runs in your browser. Temporary workspaces are lost after refresh or closing the tab; save the result you need.
